There are numerous cases of iPod touch brightness problem reported all over the internet, which is said to be experienced only when the iPod touch is working on “Auto brightness mode”.I experienced a similar problem on my iPod touch yesterday, after using a new pouch for my iPod.I found out the fix for this problem and here it is.
The iPod touch or iPhone has a special sensor called “Ambient light sensor” , which is used to vary the iPod touch screen brightness depending on the ambient light conditions (in auto brightness mode) .If you have a close look at the upper part of your iPod touch (above the screen) , you will see a small sensor (Ambient light sensor) there as shown below.
So, when you use a case/pouch which covers the sensor and blocks the ambient light from reaching it,the sensor will miscalculate the ambient light and will dim the brightness.
The Fix :
1. you can cut or drill a small whole on the portion of the pouch/case which covers it.
2.or Buy a pouch with a provision for the sensor .
3.If the problem persists , Reset your iPod touch /iPhone using iTunes.
4.if nothing works , you should consider reporting it to the service center.
Have you ever experienced a similar problem like this?.if you have any ,please share the problem and it solution in the comment section, so that it could help others.
