Finally the PC is going mobile.Here we present the WINDOWS 3.1 installed on a Symbian S60 device.Eventhough the facilities in windows 3.1 look a little dumb,its still an achievement to port windows on to the mobile and we thank the polish scientist for making that possible.Here is the complete guide to install WINDOWS 3.1.

INSTALLATION GUIDE v1.1 :
I. Installation of DOSBox v0.72:
1. Unzip 'DOSBox_s60.rar' to your PC.
2. Install all the application files in the INSTALL directory to your phone.
3. Now install DOSBox_Full.sisx
4. After installation,try running DOSBOX.If there is a message: 'Not enought memory', install 'DOSBox_Slim.sisx' by replacing the previous version.
II. Windows 3.1 for Symbian
1. Unzip the 'Win3.1-on-s60_v1.1.rar' file to your phone's memory card.(This also copies Norton commander 5 to your memory card,)
2. Run DOSBox.
III. To switch between Windows 3.1 and Norton Commander 5.
1. Go to 'Data' directory in 'Win3.1-on-s60_v1.1' file on your phone's memory card and search for 'dosbox.conf' file.
2. Open the 'dosbox.conf' file in notepad.
(In the dosbox.conf file,# is used in front of that line, to make that line as comment.That is what you must do switch between the two OS .i.e edit the DOSBox file and comment the unnecessary lines).If you donot understand what we are explaining, just forget what we mentioned above and just edit the conf file as given below.
To run Windows 3.1
(comment the NORTON COMMANDER 5 lines that are in bold as shown)
# Loader 1 — Windows 3.1
# mount a e:\Data\win31\ (To install more drivers)*
mount c e:\Data\
mount d e:\
c:
c:\Windows\win.com
# Loader 2 — Norton Commander 5.0
# mount c e:\Data\
# mount d e:\
# c:
# c:\nc\nc.exe
FINALLY DON'T FORGET TO SAVE THE DOSBOX.CONF FILE.
(if you are a fresher to programming, skip the following:
* TO install new drivers you need t0 put Windows 3.1 driver files to 'memory card\Data\win31' directory.
Edit 'dosbox.conf' file and remove '#' in 'mount a e:\Data\win31\' line.

To run Norton Commander 5
(comment the Windows 3.1 lines that are in bold and remove the '#' symbol in Norton commander 5 lines as shown)

IV. CONTROLS
1. To switch between the mouse and the keyboard press "Call" key.
2. Turning off automatic screen rotation, it may cause DOSBox close.
3. To change DOSBox allocated 2MB RAM edit the line 'memsize=2' in file 'memory card\Data\dosbox.conf'.
