Nokia launched its premium multimedia mobile N96 under its N-series range of phones. N96 in india is available in both 16GB as well as 24GB version (whereby customers can store about 18,000 songs, 20,000 images, upto 60 hours of video and 20 full length movies) . This phone houses a 5 MP camera , 2.8" screen and 3D surround speakers for ultimate music experience. The phone also has navigational capabilities and enhanced gaming like its predecessor N95.

The phone also comes with a S60 security application named Wave secure which tracks the phone in the event of theft and also back ups the data via internet.
The phone also comes with a "Kickstand" on the back cover allows for hands-free viewing .The phone has a 2.0 USB port, WLAN and HSPDA compatible and also supports Nokia’s Ovi range of services.

The company has announced a pre-booking amount of Rs.4000 for the customers and the phone is said to be available in the market from September 2008.
